Welcome to The Grimm Players

Spring 2009: High Society - Cast announced

FIRST REHEARSAL: Thursday 25th September 2008, 7.45pm @ Furze Platt Junior School

Join the "cast and crew" group on Facebook

Directors: Maggie Kearney & Julian Fox
Music Director: Pippa Eden
Choreographer: Laura-Anne Putterford
Producer: Jill Lucking

Our next full-scale production will run from February 17th to 21st at the Desborough Suite in Maidenhead. We're very proud to be bringing the first (we think) local production of High Society, the musical adapted from the film, starring Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly. With some of Cole Porter's most famous songs (Who Wants to be a Millionare?, Well Did You Evah?, I Love Paris and more) and what we expect to be a stellar cast, it really will be a show for everyone to enjoy.

Grimmbourne 2008: Yeomen of the Guard & Me and My Girl

Cover of a tin box, featuring a scene from Yeomen

This year's Grimmbourne concerts were a huge success. The concert offered a very English programme, pairing Gilbert & Sullivan's classic tragi-comedy Yeomen of the Guard (conducted by Pippa Eden) with the upbeat Me and My Girl (conducted by Graham Barker).

This is our main charity fundraising event of the year, and this year we have chosen to support Macmillan Nurses.

Autumn 2008: No production

As regular Grimms followers will recall, in recent years we have put on a revue in the autumn. This year, though, we haven't found a revue that inspires us, so we've decided not to do one, but watch this space for an exciting studio production in October 2009. This also gives us more time to prepare for...

The Grimm Players' team needs you!

The Grimm Players are always looking to add new ideas and enthusiasm to our organisation. There are a couple of spaces on our main committee, to help us lead the group into the next 40 years. We are also hoping to expand the group of helpers outside of the main committee, helping us through pre-production and backstage, planning and publicising our activities. Prior experience would be useful, of course, but far more important are energy and passion for musical theatre.

If you think you would like to help us over the next few years of our development, please contact us on info@grimm-players.org.uk.

About us

The Grimm Players are based in Maidenhead (UK) and have a very busy programme throughout the year: one large-scale production early in the year, a charity concert in the summer and a small-cast musical revue in the Autumn, with loads of social events in between. If you live in the Maidenhead area and think that you might like to get into showbiz, why not get in touch? Maybe you can't sing, act or dance... don't worry, you won't be alone! There's lots to do backstage and front of house.
